HG体育-HG体育官网 cautiously welcomes the long awaited rules on corporate sustainable due diligence proposed by the European Commission. Whereas the proposal falls short of our recommendations, the introduction of a binding obligation on companies to carry out human rights and environmental due diligence is a major step toward corporate accountability. We call upon the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union as co-legislators to ensure that the legislation ultimately brings yet stronger protections for the workers and other rights holders.

At the start of the 2022 OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector HG体育-HG体育官网 welcomes the strong emphasis on purchasing practices in the official agenda. As a global network dedicated to improving working conditions and empowering workers in the global garment and sportswear industries, we have been vocal about the need to address this major cause of worker rights violations.
This blog aims to collect daily information about how the new Coronavirus COVID-19 is influencing garment workers' rights in supply chains around the world.
